Latin American Strategy & Institutiona Affairs

Roberta is a senior institutional affairs, government relations and ESG strategist with deep experience helping companies navigate Brazil and Latin America’s complex business, regulatory and stakeholder environments.

Her expertise is built on decades of work across corporate law, public affairs, association leadership, ESG, consumer goods and direct selling. She advises companies on market entry, institutional positioning, regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement and the public-private relationships needed to operate and grow in highly dynamic markets.

Roberta currently leads Institutional and Government Affairs and ESG at HONDATAR Advogados in São Paulo, where she advises corporate clients on strategic engagement with public authorities, regulatory developments, institutional risk, governance and ESG integration. She helps companies translate legal, political and regulatory complexity into clear business intelligence and practical strategy.

Previously, Roberta served as Head of Institutional and Government Affairs at Química Amparo / Ypê, one of Brazil’s leading consumer goods companies. In that role, she led institutional affairs strategy and advocacy efforts and managed relationships with municipal, state and federal authorities

For more than a decade, Roberta served as Executive Director of ABEVD, the Brazilian Direct Selling Association, where she led the association’s institutional, governmental and legal affairs and represented the Brazilian direct selling sector before national and international stakeholders.

Earlier in her career, Roberta spent more than a decade at Avon Cosméticos in Brazil, managing a broad legal and regulatory portfolio across labor, contracts, tax, consumer protection, environmental, corporate, licensing, intellectual property and government relations matters.

With a rare combination of legal training, public affairs experience, association leadership and corporate insight, Roberta helps companies understand not only the rules of the market, but the people, institutions and relationships that shape business outcomes in Brazil and across Latin America.
